Evolved, in-home speech therapy for fast & powerful results™
Rise & shine
Most parents are disappointed when progress in therapy is slow and limited. Luminous Speech Therapy™ achieves penetrating results with avant-garde and affirmative services so your child reaches their fullest potential.
Why LST?
Having a communication disorder (CD) is hard for both kids and their families. It can impact social connectivity, community participation and self-fulfillment. Societal barriers can create a lot of missed opportunities.
And unfortunately, therapy that is not neurodiversity-affirmative or trauma-informed can unintentionally compound these issues. Luminous Speech Therapy of Austin advocates for radical changes in the old guard of therapy practices.
Luminous focuses on empowerment through communicating autonomy, agency and creativity for rich, flexible and functional speech and language. Luminous Speech Therapy provides virtual, affirmative therapy throughout Texas as well as limited, in-person home visits in Austin, TX in order to quickly and drastically improve our next generation’s communication, happiness and success.
Okay, but, how?
Every moment of a child’s life is filled with opportunities to learn and practice new communication skills. Luminous’ virtual parent training and in-home therapy sessions for language disorders are particularly valuable in their direct instruction of parents on how to naturally turn everyday activities into enriching speech therapy sessions from the world’s top SLP-you! Picture all you can eat speech therapy 24/7 for a lifetime.
LST for speech-sound disorders teaches kids and parents a unique and highly effective cuing system to treat mild articulation impairments to severe apraxia of speech. LST’s multimodal cueing system allots 3 intuitive, simple, naturalistic cues (visual, auditory, and gestural) to each sound to provide richer context for programming and recall.
Not only is LST incredibly effective at improving communication far more quickly and thoroughly than traditional ST, it is fun! Parents not only report leaps and bounds in speech and language, but also drastically improved relationships, more joy, smiles, jokes and laughs. We love watching our kids blossom 💐
LST turning challenges into superpowers since 2020
Hi, I’m Alexis Sidoff M.A., CCC-SLP. I am a board-certified speech-language pathologist with over a decade of clinical experience. I started Luminous Speech Therapy of Austin, PLLC after witnessing the power of child-led interventions in the home health setting and observing a lack of neurodiversity-affirming therapists in Austin and the rest of the world.
I love advocating for and participating in the growth of our children and communities and am obsessed with the success of my patients and their families.
I enjoy quick walks in good boots on the traditional diagnostic medical model in solidarity with all marginalized persons, regardless of neurology. In the second year of my MA at the University of Houston, I created the SLP section of an interdepartmental, multidisciplinary assessment team to diagnose children with ASD using an evidence-based, strengths-based and affirmative approach.
My last research review compared the efficacy of two traditional, evidence-based and affirmative intervention techniques used in ASD as alternatives to those utilized in behavior-based methods.
The LST approach, however unique, was developed using quality research and an emphasis on ethics and evidenced-based practices.
I understand the trauma and grief caused by therapy that employs ineffective and unethical methods but we can and will move towards affirmative approaches only.
